Welcome to the glimmer in my eye that is The Queen Midas Touch. This is a place about boldly seeking that "golden lining" in your wardrobe (and consequently, life). A lining is not every last thing—it's an edging. But that edging is what makes everything else a little more worthwhile. While the American English expression about silver linings relates to a hunt for positivity in an otherwise-dark situation, let's say that a golden lining is applying that idea to the whole of life—bolstering what can be a difficult or dull existence, by shining some experimentation and exuberance on the everyday. Oh, and for our purposes, that golden lining is usually tangible (you can touch it).

Welcome to my world. Behind me is a map of "The Queen City" a.k.a Cincinnati, Ohio, where I'm currently based.

I've found that the additions of color, pattern, shape and texture can be the best adjustments we can make to give ourselves a bit more joy and energy as we go throughout our mornings, days, and however much time we have on this planet. There are so many ways to riff on (or replace) go-to combinations like a T-shirt and jeans, or leggings and a tunic-like top. It can be as simple as a smidge of red lipstick, or as bold as a bomber jacket that you nabbed from your father's closet. I want to help you find that special something that brightens the way you express yourself each day.

So if you're willing (and maybe you're even a little energized) to open yourself up to something that is part customization, part experimentation, and part transformation, then let's see what we can do together.

You should know that:

1. I prefer to first work with what you already have, keeping things on the green side for both your wardrobe and wallet, and our world.

2, From there, vintage, consignment and pre-loved clothing are all my favorite choices for additions.

3. As a last (but sometimes easiest result), there are full-price, readily-available clothing options I can recommend.

Any closet additions should get you both impact and mileage—so they shouldn't be one-use wonders, but unique and wearable regulars that you're delighted to reach for. I absolutely love teaching clients how to mix patterns, as well as how to pick the best colors, patterns, shapes and textures that will illuminate them.

Currently, my focuses are personal styling via wardrobe auditing and outfit curation, as well as commissioned, artful renewals of existing classic and basic pieces that get my golden touch. If you're interested in "stitching some golden lining" into your closet, please be in touch!

I'd love to hear from you about the kinds of blog posts you'd like to have from The Queen Midas Touch. Whether it's about bold sartorial choices, how to mix prints, do metallics look good on everyone, how to know it's time to part with a piece of clothing, how to dress with personality in the workplace, or whatever else topically that you'd like to get my stance on. Please feel free to comment below or write to me.
